Ludmila Korenfeld, a former student at the Moscow Institute of Electronic Machine Building who was expelled in April for “hooliganism,” has advised the World Union of Jewish Students that she has applied for admission to the Technion in Haifa, Israel. She was in her third year at the Institute when she was expelled. Several months ago another Jewish student, Marina Kanzburg, was dismissed from the State University of Kharkov on similar charges. She was in her fourth year in the Philology Department. Both students are awaiting approval of their applications for immigration to Israel. Both have been elected members of WUJS.
