After a five-hour stormy session the Students Union Presidium decided early this morning to end the three-day strike by some 40,000 students. Universities will reopen Sunday as usual. The students were striking against a proposal by the Ministry of Education to Increase tuition fees next year from $250 to $600 and against red tape in providing grants to needy students. After several meetings with Minister of Education Yigal Allon it was agreed that the grants would be given as soon as possible while the higher tuition fees would not be introduced next year.
