“Jesus Christ was Aryan and anti-Semitic,” Julius Streicher’s anti-Jewish weekly Der Stuermer will assert in a special Easter number, it announced today in Palm Sunday posters displayed in Berlin’s streets, the Havas News Agency reported.
The early Christian church, the posters asserted, took exactly the same steps against Jews as are taken by Germany’s Nazi leaders today. Persecution of Christians originated with the Jews of that time, it was declared, and anti-Christian actions today still come from Jews.
The following three arguments are expected to be advanced in the special number as proof that Christ was “Aryan”:
1. The son of St. Joseph was a carpenter, and no Jew in the world worked at that trade.
2. Christ was born in Galilee, not in Judea, and there were no Jews in Galilee.
3. Christ’s physiognomy was “Aryan,” not Jewish.
