The Sultan of Morocco, recognized religious leader of the Arabs of French North Africa, today issued a statement expressing solidarity with the Arab cause in Palestine.
At the same time, the Sultan warned the Jews of Morocco, nominally under his political and administrative control, against supporting “Zionist aggression. ” He also called on his Moslem subjects not to commit acts likely to disturb p7ublic order and security. The reaction of the Sultan and other Arab leaders in various parts of North Africa is said to have caused the French hesitation in supporting partition for Palestine.
