In cooperation with the University of Syracuse, the North East Religious Union will conduct a Teachers Summer Institute here beginning July 5 and ending July 20. The course is designed to aid teachers in Jewish religious schools, to give them the knowledge of the latest methods developed in general and religious education and to promote the use of creative material in the teaching of religion and Jewish history. The faculty for the 15-day course will consist of Dr. Emanuel Gamoran of Cincinnati, educational director of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations; Ben Edidin, director of the Board of Jewish Education of Buffalo; George M. Hyman, executive director of the Jewish Communal Center of Syracuse; and Rabbi Jacob B. Pollak of New York, regional rabbi for the North East Religious Union.
The North East Religious Union is a regional division of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, parent body of all the Reform congregations of the United States, and covers the states of New England, New Jersey and New York.
