“Super Sunday, ” the United Jewish Appeal’s second volunteer telephone marathon aimed at reaching hundreds of thousands of Jewish households in the U.S., opened the public phase of the 1982 UJA campaign last Sunday by raising more than $13 million in a single day. “Well over 30,000 volunteers dialed their friends and neighbors in 82 communities, and our preliminary figures show a total of $13,124,817 in gifts,” UJA national chairman Herschel Blumberg and Super Sunday national chairman Jerome Dick said in a joint statement.
