American labor support of Israel is widely known and appreciated in Israel, Dr. Dov Beigun, executive head of the Histadruth campaign in the United States, told an audience of Histadrut officials here last night.
He said that during his current tour of the Jewish State he found appreciation of the pro-Israel speech last month by George Meany, president of the AFL-CIO. In Beersheba, he continued, the people are looking forward to the ground breaking for the projected Negev Central Hospital for which funds were contributed by the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Israeli labor leaders were eagerly awaiting a visit next month of American trade union officials, Dr. Beigun reported.
