A conference of the Jewish National Fund branches in Mexico and Central America concluded here last night, after hearing Dr. Abraham Granovsky, director of the JNF in Jerusalem, report on the expansion of the organization during the past four years despite the restrictions on land purchases and colonization by Jews. Dr. Granovsky appealed to the conference to support his plan for the purchase of 500,000 additional dunams of land in the near future to accommodate hundreds of thousands of Jews from Europe.
The delegates, who represented Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and El Salvador, pledged active participation in the drive to carry out the “Granovsky plan,” and approved expansion of JNF activities in their countries. They adopted resolutions asking abrogation of the White Paper and the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. The recent work of the JNF in Mexico and Central America was reviewed by Teodoro Resnikoff, JNF director for that area.
