Because a swastika modeled by bathers on the shifting sands of the beach at Auest, summer resort on the North Sea, was found disfigured today, the mayor of the community issued an order calling for immediate expulsion of Jews and Christian women married to Jews from the resort. The incident was used to incite the population against the Jews and the mayor’s order that the Jews not only leave the beach but also the community found approval among the enthusiastic Hitlerites.
At Norderny, another resort, where a few days ago, Jewish visitors were ordered to leave, a huge sign, “German women must not dance with Jews,” made its appearance today.
