Twenty-two thousand pounds of butter will be sent next month to the Israel Ministry of Social Welfare, which will distribute it to children’s and nursing homes, it was announced here following a meeting of Sweden’s Minister of Agriculture with a Jewish delegation.
The butter was collected by farmers in the province of Jonkoping. Swedish Chief Rabbi Kurt Wilhelm, who was a member of the delegation, thanked the Swedish Minister for his assistance, adding that “all Jews are deeply grateful to the government and people of Sweden for all the help they have given and are still giving to Israel.”
