Sweden’s prime minister admitted that his country acted wrongly during World War II. “We will always have to bear the moral and political responsibility for what happened, or didn’t happen, from the Swedish side during the war,” Goran Persson told the nation’s Parliament. Persson broke 60 years of tradition by dropping the defense that Sweden, which hosts an international conference on the Holocaust next week, had acted as a neutral nation during the war.
