Benjamin H. Swig, prominent San Francisco civic and philanthropic leader, has accepted the national chairmanship of a campaign to establish the Herbert H. Lehman Institute of Ethics of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, according to Dr. Louis Finkelstein, Seminary Chancellor.
Accepting the assignment, Mr. Swig said “I am deeply honored to be charged with a campaign that will lead to the study of such an important area of freedom and human rights. The ethics of the Talmud is Judaism’s contribution to peace, and its study is invaluable to us now and for our descendants.”
