Border officials at Schaffhausen are Turning Back all Jews arriving from Germany, it was learned today, even if their passports are in order and they have sufficient funds.
According to the National Zeitung, the officials ask all passengers the same question: “Aryan or non-Aryan?” If the latter, they are not admitted.
The same newspaper reports that an ill Jewess of 63 years, who arrived from Breslau with a letter of credit from the German authorities for 700 Swiss francs and whose destination was a nursing home at Lugano, was sent back despite a Swiss doctor’s statement that she was in need of treatment.
