The central committee of the Union of Swiss Jewish Communities has decided to withhold its annual financial grant to the Hashomer Hatzair organization in Switzerland.
This decision follows an investigation by a special communal committee into the “true position” of the Hashomer Hatzair in Switzerland. Although no official reason for the withholding of the funds was given, it was learned that the central committee refused to support the left-wing Socialist group because of its leftist orientation and because of its “anti-religious attitude.”
