Plans are under way to shift to Britain a conference of West European Jews to rally support for Israelis cause, which was scheduled to be held in Switzerland in the first week of February, it was learned here today. The site of the conference will be Brighton, but the time has not yet been fixed.
The reason for the shift is the Swiss Government’s position that the conference will hear political speeches criticizing foreign states, which the Swiss Government feels would violate its traditional neutrality. The sponsors of the parley, for their part, cannot accept the condition that speakers refrain from criticizing foreign states.
