A $30,000 grant by the Swiss Government to the Central ORT Institute for the Training of Vocational Teachers, which is situated at Angers near Geneva, was announced here by Dr. A. Syngalowski, chairman of the executive committee of the World ORT Union.
Dr. Syngalowski made the announcement in speaking at the second graduation ceremony at the Institute which took place under the chairmanship of Antoine Pugin, President of the Canton of Geneva. The ceremony was attended by diplomatic representatives from the United States, Britain, France, Israel, Belgium, Italy, Holland and Iran.
The 12 instructors who graduated from the Institute were addressed by A. Borel, president of the Geneva Parliament. They will serve in ORT schools in Israel, Iran, France, Italy, Morocco, Tunis and Algiers. Swiss Government experts reported on the excellent record of the students in the official examinations.
