Swiss officials said they had detained an Israeli Mossad agent in connection with an attempt to bug telephones on the outskirts of Bern. The officials would not comment on reports that five agents, four of whom were released after being held briefly, were attempting to eavesdrop on members of the fundamentalist Hezbollah movement. Switzerland is awaiting an official apology from Israel over the incident.
