Switzerland called upon Israel to tear down its West Bank security barrier if the threat of Palestinian terrorism diminishes. The Associated Press reported Sunday that Swiss Ambassador Peter Maurer, in a report to the U.N. General Assembly, said Palestinians need to improve security for Israelis. The General Assembly had requested the report from Switzerland, which is the official guardian of the Geneva Conventions, in the wake of an advisory opinion last summer by the International Court in The Hague declaring Israel’s barrier illegal.
