Switzerland cannot remain indifferent to the stream of refugees flowing over the German frontiers, the National Zeitung declared yesterday, in reviewing German-Swiss relations in 1938. The Swiss are concerned over the refugee problem as they were over the fate of the Armenians, the paper said, and the Swiss people will defend “the supreme values of freedom and humanity.”
