The Synagogue Council of America, representing all religious groups in American Jewry, today sent a message of greetings to Christians in this country in connection with the approaching Christmas holiday. The message, addressed to the National Conference of Christians and Jews, reads:
“At this season of the year the Christian community of the world is preparing to celebrate a festival which is not only one of the notable observances of the church, but is marked by great outpouring of human warmth and brotherly sentiment. The Synagogue Council of America, representing the religious forces of American Jewry, extends to the Christian people of our land the hearty good wishes of their Jewish follow citizens. May the coming holiday be to all who celebrate it a source of joy and blessing and may it serve to strengthen the ties of human friendship among all the children of God.”
