Telegrams urging President Truman to issue instructions for the immediate lifting of the arms embargo were sent to President Truman last night by the Synagogue Council of America and the American Federation for Polish Jews.
The telegrams pointed out that the embargo was a U.S. act and that, through Truman, it should be discontinued, and so enable Israel to buy arms in the U.S. such forthright action would be welcomed by all Americans and citizens of the world, the messages stated.
