The Jews of Minsk may soon be deprived of two important landmarks according to travelers who just arrived here from the Soviet Union. The Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry said the travelers reported that the last remaining synagogue in Minsk is likely to be razed to make room for the expansion of an adjacent housing project. The travelers also said it was possible that the monument to the World War II martyrs of the Minsk ghetto will be removed if the nearby Iubilena Hotel carries out its contemplated expansion. The monument contains an inscription in Yiddish.
