Syracuse Drve on for Palestine Funds; to Seek $1,000

The Mizrachi and Torah V’Havodah campaign for Palestine was opened here last night with a conference at the New Temple Beth Israel. The fund in Syracuse seeks to raise $1,000 as part of $10,000 of the western New York State quota. congregation officials have planned a compaign to end this month. Rabbi Wolf Gold, president of the Mizrachi organization of America, will address the participants at the conclusion of the drive.

The Hadassah Fund-Raising Committee, of which Mrs. Herbert H. Lehman is honorary chairman, is sponsoring a concert tomorrow evening at Carnegie Hall, featuring Mme. Maria Jeritza. Hadassah will use the proceeds to extend medicinal care to Palestinian children. Mrs. Abraham L. Liebowitz is chairman of the fund-Raising Committee and Mrs. Alexander simson heads the concert committee.
