With more than one hundred paid up members in the Zionist District here, officers were elected at a meeting in the Habel, Syracuse yesterday.
Benjamin G. Rudolph was chosen to head the organization. Other officers elected include: A. M. Holstein, S. D. Solomon and Isaac Markson, honorary presidents; Bernard B. Given, local member of the Jewish Agency, first vice president; Alexander Holstein, second vice president; Irving Brickman, third vice-president; Dr. Aaron Burman, secretary, and Samuel Weinstein, treasurer.
Rabbi Benjamin Friedman of the Temple Society of Concord, said in part:
“Because of the tense situation of Jews in Germany, the problem of Jews settling in Palestine has come into prominence and it falls upon our shoulders.”
In conclusion he remarked. “The fight against German Fascism should be made by all who feel that the liberty for which men have fought and died is worth preserving.
Rabbi Benjamin Friedman introduced the speaker. The fund raised from entrace fees will be contributed to the defense of the men accused of firing the Reichstag.
