Syrian authorities admitted today that their forces had violated the Israel-Syrian armistice agreement when Syrian troops, firing at Israelis north of the Ein Gev settlement, recently killed two Jewish settlers.
The incident was discussed at a meeting today of the mixed Israel-Syrian armistice commission, held at the customs house near Bnot Yaacov. Both the Israelis and Syrians agreed to take steps to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
