Syria intends eventually to take over the area along the shore of lake Tiberias which Syrian troops occupied before the Israeli-Syrian armistice agreement was signed, Faris el Khouri, Syria’s representative at the United Nations, told an American radio audience today.
The Syrian diplomat charged, in his nationwide broadcast, that Israel was bent on expanding its territory. He said that a map hangs on the wall of the Israel Parliament showing Israel territory as extending from the Nile to the Euphrates, and declared that this was an ancient Jewish dream.
