The annual Henrietta Szold Award of Hadassah was presented today to Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive and former Israeli Prime Minister for “distinguished humanitarian service.” The $1,000 award was presented to Mr. Sharett in his room at the Hadassah Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Mr. Sharett was cited by Hadassah for his role in enhancing “the image of Israel among the nations.” Responding to the presentation, Mr. Sharett said that Hadassah had an unrivaled record of service and has integrated itself into the academic, professional, administrative and humanitarian life of Israel.
