Lodz is agog today with the tale of a fabulous fortune allegedly bequeathed to the beadle of a small synagogue, in Lodz, Shlome Davidovitch, by a deceased nephew in Los Angeles.
According to the tale Davidovitch has received a letter from the American consulate informing him that the son of his brother who went to Los Angeles 18 years ago, died, leaving him a fortune of no less than seventy-five million dollars.
