A program of free correspondence courses in Talmud for Jewish men and women on active duty with the American military forces was started by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations in cooperation with the World Zionist Organization, it was announced here today.
These courses will be available to those service personnel who are interested in improving their Jewish knowledge, either as individuals or as members of study groups. Lessons in English will be included in the kite for the interested student at regular intervals, and will be constructed so as to encourage the participant to work on his own. An opportunity will also be provided for the recipient to submit his own questions and to receive answers.
