Rabbi Avigdor Cyperstein, professor of Talmud at Yeshiva University, has been granted a leave of absence to serve as Chief Rabbi of the Argentine, University president Dr. Samuel Belkin, announced. Rabbi Cyperstein, 52-year-old native of Poland, will assume his new post of spiritual leader of the fifth largest Jewish community in the world, about November 15.
