The charge that anti-Semitic literature is being distributed in the German department of the Women’s College branch of Rutgers University by members of the department, was made here today by Prof. Leonard Bergel, who declares he was dismissed for his attempt to fight the pro-Nazi spirit in the college.

President Robert C. Clothier of Rutgers today appointed a special committee to investigate the charge. The committee will also establish to what extent the anti-Semitic and pro-Hitler propaganda is encouraged by members of the faculty of the Women’s College.

REASONS CHANGED

Prof. Bergel charges that Nazi propaganda was spread in the classrooms by members of the German department of the College, all of whom he alleges are German
