A conference of teachers in New York elementary, private and high schools will be held over the weekend of May 26-27, according to an announcement from the executive committee of the Teachers’ Anti-War Committee. The conference will discuss war and fascism.
Detailed plans have not yet been decided upon, but it is expected that a Christian clergyman and a rabbi will speak at the gathering and that teachers will take part in an open discussion from the floor.
Dr. Margaret Schlauch, professor of English at New York University, is chairman of the committee, and the call was issued by Harry F. Ward, George S. Counts, E. Berry Burgum, Williana Burroughs, Robert Gessner, Bernhard J. Stern, LeRoy E. Bowman, Isidore Begun and Blanche Hofrichter.
