In a move to implement a decision by the board of governors of the Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology, to expand the undergraduate enrollment at the institution, the Technion Council has appointed a special committee to study the expansion of technical education in Israel.
The Israel Government had requested a 40 percent increase in student enrollment in the engineering faculties of the Technion to provide for an anticipated growth in demand for technical engineering personnel. The institution had announced plans to enlarge its undergraduate body by 400 a year starting in 1969.
