The Association of Cinema Owners, whose theatres have been closed down for more than a week as a result of the 8 p.m. curfew imposed on the city following the killing of seven British soldiers by Jewish terrorists, today notified High Commissioner Sir Alan G. Cunningham that they will break their contracts with British film companies, if the theatres are not allowed to open this evening.
The military and police detachments which will represent Palestine in London’s Victory Parade on June 8 left here today on route to England.
The officer commanding the unit representing the Palestine Regiment is Lieut. Jacob Granovsky, son of Dr. Abraham Granovsky, director of the JNF. Lieut. Granvosky fought with distinction in the Libyan and Italian campaigns and was the first officer of the Jewish Brigade to be wounded by enemy action.
