Police yesterday broke up a demonstration by some 300 Communists who were marching towards the Belgian Embassy to protest the killing last week of deposed Congolese Premier Patrice Lumumba. The Communists, who were-carrying banners reading “Death to the Lumumba Killers,” and “Down with Hammarsk-jold,” were finally dispersed after four of the demonstrators were arrested. The incident was followed by sporadic clashes between police and pro-Lumumba demonstrators along Tel Aviv’s most crowded thoroughfare before quiet was restored.
