Fifteen members of the Brith Trumpeldor, militant Revisionist youth organization, who participated in an illegal demonstration against the immigration policy of the Palestine government on December 9, in Tel Aviv, were sentenced today to serve four months in prison for unlawful assembly. Another member of the group was bound over to keep the peace for one year.
The Tel Aviv demonstration grew out of a meeting called by the Revisionists on that day to protest against immigration restrictions and against the campaign of the Palestine government to expel tourists who had overstayed their visas. After the meeting a group of Trumpeldorites carrying the Blue and White Zionist flag, formed a procession and marched through the streets of Tel Aviv. When police attempted to disperse the demonstration, a pitched battle resulted, in which many onlookers joined. The demonstrants dispersed only when police brought up armored cars and threatened to open fire.
