The all-Jewish city of Tel Aviv intends to obtain new loans abroad, in addition to the ones obtained several years ago in the United States and last year in London, it was announced today by Mr. Rokeach, vice-mayor of the city.
The city administration of Tel Aviv has applied to the Palestine government for approval of the project, asking that the additional loans total $5,000,000.
The municipal budget of Tel Aviv was announced today as exceeding $2,000,000 for 1935. This includes half a million dollars for Jewish education. The municipality is negotiating with the government to participate in the coverage of its budget along the same proportions as is being done by the government for other cities of Palestine.
