The Palestine government has approved the plan to extend the borders of this city further north, it was announced today by Meier Dizengoff, mayor of Tel Aviv.
This expansion will make Tel Aviv the largest city in Palestine according to population.
At a session of the Municipal Council today, Mayor Dizengoff urged the Council to conclude its discussions with regard to the municipal budget for 1935-36. This advice from the Mayor came as a surprise since the Palestine government has not yet approved the municipal budget for 1933-34.
The danger of a strike of street cleaners is now imminent. The workers demand a twenty per cent increase in pay as well as an increase in the number of workers proportionate with the growth of the city.
An agreement has been reached between the Palestine government and the Jewish colonies of Kfar Saba providing that a new road from Tel Aviv to Tulkarm should pass Kfar Saba. The Jewish colonists will pay half of the cost of the road within their boundary.
