Tel Aviv, the Jewish municipalityin Palestine with its 20000 inhabitants will profit from the experiences of New York, the greatest city of the world, Mayor Dizengoff declares in a letter published by the metropolitan newspapers today. The letter follows:
“May I through your columns express my gratitude for the consideration shown me on my visit to the largest city in the world, and for the help and cooperation that I have received from your city officials from the Mayor of the City of New York to the chief engineers in charge of public works, water supply and the sewerage system?
“As the first Mayor of the first Jewish municipality under the Government of Palestine – the City of Tel Aviv – I came here on a short visit to complete the financing of the first bond issue for the Jewish Township of Tel Aviv, Palestine. The entire financing is now complete, and I am returning to Tel Aviv with $350000 paid for bonds of the Township of Tel Aviv. As we are to use this money in the installation of a modern sewerage system and the extension of our water supply system, I have taken the opportunity while here to study the public utilities in the City of New York, and I am certain that the small Jewish town of Tel Aviv of 20000 inhabitants will profit materially from the experience of the greatest city of the world.”
