Prof. Yuval Neeman, president of the Tel Aviv University, has cabled President Nixon to raise the matter of six hunger-striking Jewish scientists in Moscow with Soviet Communist Party Secretary Leonid I. Brezhnev. Prof. Neeman, who is chairman of the Israeli Academic Committee for Soviet Jewry, said in his message. “We respectfully draw your attention to the tragic conditions of six eminent Jewish scientists who have been on a group hunger strike since June 10 as a protest against Soviet denial of their right to emigrate.”
