The miraculous escape of Prof. Crowfoot, who is directing excavations on Mount Ophel, during the recent earthquake shock, was reported by Mr. Masterman, secretary of the Palestine Exploration Fund.
At the time of the shock, Prof. Crowfoot was at the bottom of the excavation. While the wall near which he stood shook greatly, the stones did not budge.
The excavations were in no way affected by the shock, Mr. Masterman stated to the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
