Ten Jews are among the 83 candidates for the four Provincial Councils of the Union of South Africa whose nominations are not opposed and who thus will be automatically elected or October 14. The provincial councils are next to importance to the South African Parliament and control education and other regional matters in their area. All ten are members of the United Party.
Another seven are among the 261 candidates who will fight it out for the remaining 87 seats.
