TENSION WAS REPORTED TODAY IN BYDGOSZCZ, IN THE POLISH CORRIDOR, OVER ANTI-JEWISH POSTERS APPEARING ALL OVER THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE NATIONAL “MONTH OF POLISH TRADE,” A BOYCOTT MOVEMENT LAUNCHED BY THE CONGRESS OF POLISH TRADERS. ALL JEWISH SHOPS WERE CLOSED IN FEAR OF DISTURBANCES.

DEPUTY EMIL SOMMERSTEIN INTERVIEWED PREMIER SKLADKOWSKI ON THE SITUATION IN THE CITY, SUBMITTING ONE OF THE POSTERS. THE DEPUTY ALSO ASKED THE PREMIER TO ACT AGAINST THE GOVERNOR OF POZNAN, WHO HAS ORDERED ALL MUNICIPAL EMPLOYES TO BOYCOTT JEWISH SHOPS AND DOCTORS UNDER THREAT OF REPRISALS.

AN ANTI-SEMITIC DEMONSTRATION WAS STAGED IN THE TOWN OF WLOCLAWEK, DEMONSTRATORS CARRYING POSTERS TELLING JEWS TO “GO TO MADAGASCAR” AND SHOUTING “DEATH TO JEWS.” NATIONALIST STUDENTS ATTACKED JEWS IN THE WARSAW COMMERCIAL ACADEMY, WOUNDING SIX, THREE OF THEM GIRLS, WITH STICKS AND BRASS KNUCKLES.
