While Palestine awaited with tense interest a scheduled broadcast by High Commissioner Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael tonight, presumably on the current disorders, terrorism continued unchecked today following the secret week-end visit of Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald. The disorders were marked by kidnappings, bombings, sniping and sporadic attacks on Jewish settlements.
A Jew named Haim Goldenberg, 36, was shot and seriously wounded by Arab snipers while on the way to work with several other Jews in the quarries at Givat Shaul, Jerusalem suburb.
The Arab quarter of ancient Tiberias was placed under 22-hour curfew following a bombing in which an Arab was seriously wounded and eight others slightly injured. The bomb exploded in a vegetable market on the corner of Peace Street. A second bombing, in which no casualties resulted, occurred near the Anglo-Palestine Bank. A four-year old Jewish girl was slightly wounded in Tel Aviv when a bomb was thrown across the border from neighboring Arab Jaffa.
About 25 acres of orange groves and a water station were destroyed by Arabs in an attack on the Jewish colony of Kfar Yonah. The terrorists set fire to a hut occupied by Jewish special policemen.
