Terrorist groups increasingly are slipping encoded messages to their supporters on the Web, according to a new report. “Digital Terrorism and Hate 2003” is a CD-ROM report of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Al-Qaida and similar groups “have learned how to use every aspect of Internet technology” to support terrorism, said Abraham Cooper, the center’s associate dean. In addition, white supremacist groups are attempting to attract children on the Web by using games and puzzles to spread their message of hate, the report said.
