The Beirut newspaper. Al Jarida reported today that Lebanese authorities have felled a terrorist plot to kidnap the Egyptian Ambassador. According to the report, the envoy was to be held hostage for four Palestinians arrested in Cairo last month for the assassination of Jordan’s Prime Minister Wafsiel Tal. There was no confirmation of the report from Lebanese authorities or the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut. El Fatah, the largest Palestinian guerrilla group denied that any kidnap attempt had taken place.
