Terrorists are planning attacks on Australia’s Jewish community, intelligence reports say. “We have been told that there have been attacks planned against Jewish targets in Australia,” the president of the New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies, Stephen Rothman, said in a weekend television interview, according to the Jerusalem Post. Australia has received intelligence information about attacks planned against Jewish targets since the arrest in March of a senior Al-Qaida figure in Pakistan who allegedly masterminded the Sept. 11 attacks. Recently, Australian authorities arrested a Perth man for plotting to bomb Israel’s diplomatic missions in Canberra and Sydney. Australian police are stepping up security at Jewish sites in the country.
