A $100,000 campaign to establish a Texas colony in Palestine was opened here last night with an address by Dr. Henry Raphael Gold of Congregation Shaareth Israel, Dallas, honorary president of the Texas Zionist Organization, at Congregation Agudas Achem, this city. More than two hundred of the two thousand shares to be issued were taken up at the meeting, at which Dr. J. Berg, president of the San Antonio Zionists, presided.
The appeal will continue until completed, Dr. Gold declared. It was decided on at last year’s Silver Jubilee Convention of the organization to mark twenty-five years of Zionist work in Texas.
