The American Film Institute is presenting a retrospective of 33 Israeli films at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from Sept. 10 to Oct. 7. The opening film will be “Operation Thunderbolt.” This will be the only Washington showing of the Israel-made version of the Entebbe raid. The Institute, which conducted retrospectives on Egyptian and Iranian films last year, is a national non-profit organization established by the National Endowment for the Arts in 1967 to conduct programs designed to preserve the heritage and advance the art of film and television in the United States.
