The American Friends of the Alliance Israelite Universalle hailed the decision of the Israeli authorities last month to declare the Mikveh Israel Agricultural School, founded by the Alliance, an Israeli national landmark. A spokesman for the American Friends said this decision “will give a new impetus to the work of this institution which continues to fulfill a prominent and very vital part in the agricultural development of Israel.” The present enrollment of the agricultural school is about 800, the spokesman said.
